Inns and Lodging in the Hudson Valley

If vacationing in the Hudson Valley of New York, consider a bed and breakfast in historic, hilly, and breathtaking Orange County.

If looking for lodging in the Hudson Valley, consider a bed and breakfast in Orange County. Orange County is a blend of historic areas such as West Point and Newburgh, with untouched nature such as Harriman State Park and Greenwood Lake. Adding in the wineries from the Shawangunk Wine Trail, and Orange County has something to offer nearly everyone. Three inns of note are the Cromwell Manor Inn, Anton's on the Lake, and the Brass Rose Inn.

Cromwell Manor Inn, Cornwall, New York

The Cromwell Manor Inn has a manor house dating to 1820 and a cottage from 1764 in Cornwall, the next town over from West Point. The West Point Military Academy is a 10 minute drive away, along scenic views of the Hudson Highlands.

There are nine luxurious rooms available at the Cromwell Manor Inn, resting among seven acres of dazzling views of the Hudson River. Many of the rooms are built with fireplaces for those chilling Valentine’s Day nights. The cottage has four additional rooms in the unique build of the old house. The bed and breakfast has package deals with nearby Wellness Springs Spa to further your relaxation.

In addition to West Point, also near Cromwell Manor is Storm King Art Center, a gigantic and beautiful sculpture garden on 500 acres of land. Without a doubt, the Cromwell Manor Inn is one of the best if not the best bed and breakfast in the Hudson Valley.

Anton’s on the Lake in Warwick, New York

Anton’s on the Lake sits on the bank of beautiful Greenwood Lake and surrounded by state parks and wineries. Four wineries on the Shawangunk Wine Trail are within twenty minutes from the bed and breakfast. Nearby are also several ski resorts such as Mountain Creek (formerly Vernon Valley/ Great Gorge), Hidden Valley, and Tuxedo Ridge.

Anton’s on the Lake offers four styles of rooms, the most expensive being $165 a night. For everything that they offer and it’s location, Anton’s on the Lake is an excellent choice, especially for those who are interested in hiking, skiing, and checking out the local wineries.

Brass Rose Inn in Warwick, New York

Brass Rose Inn is very convenient, located on Main Street in downtown Warwick. This places it near all the shops, farms, and skiing that Warwick has to offer. Woodbury Commons is about 20 minutes away, and the artists’ refuge of Sugar Loaf is ten minutes.

The Brass Rose Inn is has four suites, each decorated in its own rustic Hudson Valley Charm. None of the rooms are more than $160, and three of them are less than $130. The Brass Rose Inn is a lovely choice if staying in Warwick. When there, try one of their pies. They are fantastic and decadent.

If traveling the Shawangunk Wine Trail, consider a stay at a bed and breakfast in Orange County. Its location near several wineries and access to Rt 17 (I-86) and the NYS Thruway (I-87) allow easy transportation to the area. Orange County has much to offer, consider it on the next vacation.
