Breakfast at Casa Laguna Inn & Spa
This is a terrific way to start a vacation day. The award-winning chef, Cale Falk, is a proponent of the slow food / buy local movement, and nearly everything is prepared with ingredients bought within 100 miles of the hotel. This sustainable approach to guests' morning waffles pays off; freshness is guaranteed, and the al fresco breakfast experience here really shouldn't be missed. The OC Benedict is recommended, as are the waffles and bacon. Even the coffee is top-notch (and this is coming from a very picky coffee connoisseur).
The Casa Laguna Spa
The spa here is set somewhat apart from the rest of the inn, above the pool. Luxury Travel found it to be utterly romantic, with two beds prepared for couples' massages. Treatments include Swedish and Togetherness massages too, as well as reflexology, hot stone, and salt polish body treatment. A private, 45-minute therapeutic soak in the spa's separate hot tub (outside, with ocean views) can be added on for an affordable $25 - also, a very romantic activity at this laguna Beach hotel.
Luxury Travel Review
Sometimes, relaying the layout and amenities of a hotel does not do it justice. The Casa Laguna Inn & Spa is wonderfully romantic, and one of the best bed and breakfast experiences in Orange County. Now, keep in mind that this inn is not on the beach side of Highway 1. Great effort has gone into noise reduction and creating a sense of privacy throughout the inn, though. This Unique Inns property is designed in an impeccable way, with Portuguese, Spanish, and Mexican touches everywhere. The sense of being in Southern California permeates throughout, however, with the ever-blossoming gardens, herb garden (used by the chef), and a simplicity that underscores the luxury and upscale California ambiance at Casa Laguna. It is most highly recommended for a personal, private, romantic getaway vacation.
