Splurge at the Pillar and Post, Prince of Wales or Queens Landing resort, all three luxurious Vintage Hotel properties are located in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario.

Visiting the Niagara area and staying in one of the Vintage Hotels is an exclusive vacation destination in any season. Whether the choice is historic, opulent or country chic each hotel has a distinct charm that embodies the finer things in life.

Opulent dining rooms and tranquil spas are designed to appeal to the senses and create an air of affluence and intimacy. This attention to detail is repeated in the rooms with supple bath robes and turn down bed service complete with a rose on each pillow.

All of the Vintage properties employ award-winning Chef’s and the menu will always feature locally grown food and wine. Be sure to enquire about dinner packages when booking the room. Vintage Hotels often run seasonal specials that include a three-course dinner for two in addition to the room at a fraction of the usual cost.

The Historic Prince of Wales Hotel

6 Picton Street, 905-468-3246

This gorgeous Victorian hotel was built in 1864 and while the rooms and amenities have been updated over the years the Prince of Wales still features antiques, formal china and leaded glass windows throughout the hotel.

Dinner at Escabèche, is sumptuous and worth every penny or enjoy high tea in the drawing room. Couples and children can also delight in a horse drawn carriage ride through town.

The Pillar and Post and 100 Fountain Spa

48 John Street West, 905-468-2123

Known as Ontario’s only five star country inn, Pillar and Post was originally a prominent canning factory as far back as 1890. Perfect for family vacations, the rooms here are larger than the other two properties and Pillar and Post offers a baby sitting service on site as well.

The recently renovated 100 Fountain Spa features vinotherpy in many of their treatments, using “locally harvested wine based products.” There is also an indoor and an outdoor pool to enjoy.

Queens Landing Overlooking the Niagara Harbour

155 Byron Street, 905-468-2195

Designed to resemble a Georgian manor, Queens Landing is not as old as it appears, it was built 1990. Gigantic pillars, ornate chandeliers and marble floors make for a grand entrance while the rooms are peacefully understated.

Have a casual lunch in the Bacchus Lounge and if the weather is warm sit out on the terrace for a spectacular view of the Niagara marina and the river.

Things to do in the Niagara Region

Southern Ontario is lush and filled with vineyards and wineries to visit. There is always the option of taking an organized tour from the hotel but it’s more fun to designate a driver, grab a map and hit the road.

Theatre lovers can enjoy one of the shows at the Shaw Festival from April until October. This professional company runs four separate theatres in Niagara on the Lake and each season has many tickets to choose from.

The Fallsview Casino is a short drive away and filled with slot machines and poker tables for gambling types and the Horseshoe Falls are a short walk from the casino. Or get the passport out and head across the Rainbow Bridge to Niagara Falls, NY for the day.

Visiting Niagara on the Lake is a prefect weekend in Ontario and staying in one of the Vintage Hotels makes the experience heavenly.
