The Carneros Inn, Napa Valley CAOne of the Best Resort Hotels is in Southern Napa Valley California
Wine tasting tours are growing in popularity, and Napa has the best in the US. Several top resort hotels are also in the region; for a romantic weekend, try this inn.
Luxury vacation seekers and lovers of the long weekend getaway, rejoice! One of the best hotels in Napa Valley is right in the Carneros region; this is the southernmost part of Napa, hence the shortest drive from the San Francisco Airport. The 5-star Carneros Inn, set amid almost 30 acres of vineyards and orchards, is the perfect resort hotel respite from hectic workaday life. It's Conde Nast's 11th highest rated resort in the world, and of of Travel & Leisure's to 25 most romantic getaways in the world. The Carneros Inn Resort Hotel Rooms and SuitesEvery room or suite at the Carneros Inn is its own self-contained, separate bungalow. This includes some private outdoor space with a deck - perfect for quiet reflection or a romantic meal for two - with local wine, of course. There are 86 bungalows altogether, with 10 of these being larger suites. The cottages in the middle of the complex are quieter (although all are quiet) because there is some foot traffic noise outside the rooms adjacent to the pool and spa area. Working fireplaces, heated bathroom tile floors, flat-panel TVs and luxurious bedding are all part of these perfectly appointed rooms. The Carneros Inn Resort Hotel RestaurantsThere are three restaurants in this Napa Valley resort, and Luxury Travel thoroughly enjoyed meals at all of them. While the "special," recommended four small doughnuts at the Boon Fly Cafe are overrated, everything else at this best breakfast restaurant in lower Napa Valley is fresh, and satisfying. It's one of the best resort restaurants for brunch in the area. Try the granola and yoghurt, or one of the many omelettes with locally grown ingredients and farm-fresh cheese. The Hilltop Dining Room, with full-on, gorgeous views of vineyards and rolling hills, is reminiscent of al fresco dining in the South of France or Tuscany. And The Farm, with the same locally grown and raised ingredients as the Boon Fly Cafe, is a destination restaurant unto itself. The Carneros Inn Resort Hotel SpaLuxury Travel tried an outdoor hydro-therapy mineral bath here. Now, the steel tubs are a little industrial-looking and the noise unavoidable. Once the bubbles were turned off, the peaceful surroundings, aromatherapy, and hot water are relaxing. The view here, also of rolling hills, is a lot more interesting than the view of a spa wall. A 50-minute massage was as good as any; The Spa at The Carneros Inn was rated one of the "Top 55 Spas in North America, the Caribbean and at Sea" by Conde Nast (2007), and the high level of skill among its employees is one valid reason for this. There is also a full-service fitness center with yoga, boot camp, complimentary bikes, and two pools. The Carneros Inn provides, most of all, a pampering, peaceful luxury getaway. This 5-star resort is architecturally perfect for Napa Valley, and highly recommended for an adult vacation, long romantic weekend or wine tasting getaway.
