Top Five Adults-Only Luxury Resorts in the WorldRecommended Hotels with "No Children" Policies for Quiet Vacations
Sometimes, children are the last thing travelers want to see (or hear) on vacation; the top 5 kid-free resorts for romantic honeymoon getaways to 50th anniversaries.
Let's face it, sometimes the best kind of luxury vacation is the kind where the kids get left at relatives' houses, and exhausted parents can take an child-free trip. The full-on pampering, the indulgence of sleeping late, and the extra glass (or two) or wine at dinner go a long way towards recuperating and rejuvenating from life's stressors – and that's a lot of what a luxury vacation is about! Mike Thiel, the "Luxe Travel Guru" and founder of Hideaways International, suggested the Top 10 resorts where children aren't allowed. His Top 10 is great; from his list, these are Luxury Travel's Top 5 most high-end child-free recommendations. Top 5 Adults-only Luxury ResortsAuberge du Soleil, California– This is one of the best luxury resorts in Napa Valley, and one of the most exclusive in the country as well. Napa Valley is well-known for high end culinary vacations and luxury romantic getaways: Leave the children at home, and take an adult vacation here. Auberge du Soleil overlooks the Valley, close enough to the vineyards for wine tasting, but enough removed for tranquility. There's a destination restaurant on the property (why leave?) and only 50 rooms and suites. It's also a member of the exclusive 5-star Alliance. No children under 16 years old. Gaia Hotel, Costa Rica– Costa Rica usually attracts eco-travel fans, and Gaia Hotel and Reserve is no exception. Add in the high-end amenities of a 5-star luxury resort, and the quiet ambiance of "No Children Allowed" lodging, and this Costa Rica vacation is perfect. While there are all the modern conveniences such as 24-hour room service and an on-site spa, the Gaia Reserve site makes this hotel great for adults seeking an easy green vacation. The eco-friendly environment is not mutually exclusive to the luxury accommodations at Gaia Hotel in Costa Rica! No children under 16 years old. Galley Bay, Antigua– Another luxury resort for adults, Galley Bay is recommended for its relaxed Caribbean ambiance. It's also an all-inclusive resort, so no one has to worry about being presented with a ghastly bill at the end of their romantic adult vacation. Galley Bay deserves recognition for its privacy, easy beach access from all guest rooms, and the lush tropical gardens on the property. TripAdvisor readers named Galley Bay one of the Top 10 Best Resorts for Romance in the Caribbean. No children under 16 years old. Hotel Hana Maui, Hawaii– Hawaii, and Maui in particular, is a top-rated family vacation destination. There are plenty of recommended luxury hotels here. Honeymooners, retirees, and anyone else who plain doesn't want to hear screaming children on vacation need not fret, though; Hotel Hana Maui is the perfect Hawaiian vacation spot for a quiet, private romantic getaway. The Hana area of Maui is much less developed than the popular family vacation resort areas, and Hotel Hana Maui is a AAA Four Diamond rated resort. No children under 18 years old. Mystique, Santorini (Greece)– This may be the most elite, luxurious child-free resort on the list. On the cliffs of Oia, with just 18 suites and villas, the view of the Aegean Calgera lends a definite feel of being in Greece. The "Secret" wine cave stores bottles of wine found nowhere else. The "Charisma" restaurant is available only to guests of the hotel (so no children accompanying their parents from some other hotel) and the infinity pool add up to the apex of a luxury romantic getaway. No children under 14 years old.
